Linking the World through Biotechnology

The International Center for Biotechnology (ICBiotech) of Osaka University is a unique research and education center that aims to be a global hub of biotechnology research in Asia through academic exchange with ASEAN and other countries.
We have led several international exchange programs, such as the UNESCO International Graduate Training Course in Microbiology (1973-2003), and provided professional education to young researchers and graduate students in Asia. We aim to use our exchange programs to develop a global biotechnology research network for the sustainable development of Asia.
In addition, we established the Collaborative Research Station (CRS) in Mahidol University, Thailand, for the on-site study by Japanese researchers and graduate students. These activities play a critical role in Osaka University’s ASEAN Campus Project
