PhilDOST-Osaka University Graduate Scholarship Program
About the Program
The PhilDOST-Osaka University Graduate Scholarship Program is capacity building program that fosters international collaboration between Osaka University in Japan and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) agencies in the Philippines, specifically the Science Education Institute (SEI) and the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD).
The program offers scholars the opportunity to pursue high-quality graduate education and specialized research training at the Osaka University in the field of molecular biology, and biotechnology, directly supporting advancements in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources sectors.
Scholars benefit from a comprehensive scholarship package provided by SEI, which includes tuition, living expenses, and other support. Additionally, the iGREAT (International Graduate Research and Education Assistantship for Technology) initiative supplements this funding with additional research grant, allowing scholars to expand the scope and impact of their research projects.
Upon completing their degrees, scholars are eligible to apply for a re-entry R&D grant of up to PHP 10 million. This grant is designed to help returning scholars continue their research efforts within the Philippines, fostering sustainable scientific advancement. Through this funding, graduates can seamlessly transition their research from Japan back to their home institutions, ensuring that the knowledge and skills gained abroad benefit local science and technology initiatives.
