Workshop on Collaboration between Osaka University and Japanese companies
for global human resource development in the field of biotechnology

We introduced our international programs and Southeast Asian students enrolled in Graduate School of Engineering (Bioengineering course) Osaka University to the persons who are active in the biotechnology industry. We believe that this workshop can help industrial and persons working in companies to understand the University's international human resource development. In addition, this workshop, through lectures and exchange meetings, gave some insights to students on career path and feasible idea for industry and various suggestion, advice and criticism were conveyed for improvement of educational programs.

Workshop on Collaboration between Osaka University and Japanese companies
for global human resource development in the field of biotechnology

The Fifth Workshop on Collaboration between Osaka University and Japanese companies was held. Representatives of industries engaged in the biotechnology industry were introduced to the international students enrolled at Osaka University for the purpose of attaining international human resource development. A total of six enthusiastic companies attended the meeting. Companies, faculty members and students introduced themselves and their activities to one another. Students were able to know about the Japanese companies and how to apply their scholarly works in the industrial biotechnology setting. Adding to the great success of this meeting are the lively discussions and exchange meetings which have resulted in a deepened understanding of each other.

The Fourth Workshop on Collaboration between Osaka University and Japanese companies was held. International Workshop on PMPs

We hosted an international workshop together with the University of California - Davis and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Tokyo, to discuss the commercial production of Plant-Made- Pharmaceuticals (PMPs) from the perspective of design method/structural systems analysis (DMSSA). It was successfully completed with 78 attendees.

IN FOCUS: The new ICBiotech Building and the UNESCO Biotechnology School in Asia

ICBiotech has moved to its new building. Following the renovation of the old building and the construction of the new one, ICB has relocated to its new home last May 20, 2013. The building, now known as the International Research Complex for Biotechnology, houses the laboratories of the International Center for Biotechnology as well as other laboratories and offices of the Graduate School of Engineering. Please come and visit us!
